Car coming in soon..I'm leasing. Anything I should watch out for?

My car should be in soon and I want to know if there are going to be any surprises at the dealership when I go get my car.

I know they have the tire protection....not sure if this is worth it and if so, what would be a good price.

Anything else that they will spring on me??

The finance people are going to spring tons of things on you. Most people would say to decline as dealership prices for these extras are very expensive. You can typically get wheel & tire coverage elsewhere cheaper.

I actually had a finance person try to sell me a 5 year wheel & tire package on a 3 year lease. I've also been pitched a Lo-Jack system for a leased car. I believe my response was; "It's not my car, it's yours. If you want Lo-Jack protection, then by all means, install it. I'm not going to pay for it, however".

I negotiated my lease, ordered my 335, waited 2.5 months. When I got to the dealership to sign the paperwork, my CA was on vacation. The fill in CA tried to change the lease up on me and I was not happy about it. In the end, it all came together but I was on the verge of walking away after 2.5 months of waiting. That was hard because my car was sitting there calling my name. The CA knew that and the dealer was taking advantage of that emotion.

Be prepared to stick to your guns and say no to everything. You can always call back and add it later if you really want. I personally feel the tire protection is a rip off. In the extremely unlikely event I mess up a tire and rim (hasn't happened in over 30 years of driving), I can always get another one off ebay or some other source and still be ahead of the game. I got a hole in my runflats, and it was repaired (they will claim you can't repair runflats).

Good luck and enjoy your car!

How is it possible for the CA to try and change the lease on you when you signed the order form and lease arrangement already? Surely you were given a copy? If that happened to me I think I would seriously punch the muther fucker in the mouth.

I'm waiting for a lease to come in soon too and I was wondering the same thing as OP.

I signed an order for the car with the negotiated cap cost. I didn't sign a lease agreement contract with the finance guy until the day of delivery. The purchase price was the same, it was the money factor and $ down that they tried to change up. Pretty messed up in my opinion, but it all worked out in the end.

My advice...have all your documents, e-mails, with you so you can fight if needed.

Also look out for any upsells from the national lease rates. They will say you can prepay any upgrade packages and keep the low national lease payments, but you're not seeing the upgrades on the residual. You essentially pay for 100% of the upgrades and give it back at the end of the lease (vs paying for the depreciation on the upgrades)

Signed my papers today, MSRP dropped since I ordered. They lowered the price on my deal by the amount it dropped.

They did try to upsell me on all the extra protection crap....I did not take any of them.
