You guys unplug your exhaust solenoid?

So when i installed my procede v5 i unplugged my exhaust solenoid in the trunk to keep from throwing a related code. I left it that way because it gives the car a subtle but nice tone. Any negatives to doing so? Just curious i figure it would be an odd question to 'search' an answer for if you get me.

Unplugged since day one...October 2006...almost 5 years later 58,000 miles...no related issues. Ran a couple of tunes during the whole time...still no issues. Enjoy the upgraded sound, no need to worry. You can always plug it in before you take your car for service...takes 10 seconds.

I unplugged mine as well and haven't noticed any negative side effects (except the wife complaining that the exhaust is louder )

If you have an aftermarket exhaust you don't have the valve anyway. Think of it as "permanently" unplugged.

I just put a ball bearing in the vacuum hose at the exhaust flap reconnect hose but don't disconnect electrical plug.
No codes for two years now.

Where is this vaccume hose? Do you have to get under your car to see it?

no problem whatsoever in performance or errors. It sounds so much better unplugged. Do it and you will hear the difference

Yes have a look just at the rear muffler and you will see a hose going to the exhaust flap pull the hose out and put a slightly larger ball bearing in the hose or something else and reconnect hose to the flap, no need to disconnect the electrical plug, simple and a very nice deeper exhaust note.

Driver's side exhaust has the hose. Just bend the hose and zip tie it, it's easier than ball bearing or golf tee.

Better yet, just unplug it in the truck. It takes about 30-45 seconds.

I don't know why people bother with the ball bearing. Just unplug it. I've had it unplugged for years and not a single problem. Dealer never said a word.

Anyone know where this is on an E93?? I can't seem to find the plug in the trunk. We have a top mechanism there and nothing but tail light plugs behind the trim panel.

True but you still need to cap the hose of when using an aftermarket exhaust.

Go to the main Forum section, scroll down to the DIY section. From there you'll find a thread about 3 or 4 down that talks about Exhaust Mod Easy and DIY.

I believe on page 12 or 13 it talks about E93, you have to get into the rear headlight or something like that.

I just spent 2 hours reading through it! So I'll have to say SEARCH!!!
