Idrive panel
I'm recently began to feel attached to the BMW family and I intend to get one. Pardon me if this sounds silly but may I ask, why does some 335i comes with the drive panel while some don't? And what exactly is different between the different years of manufacturing? Thank you somuch in advance.

What do you mean by iDrive Panel?
If you buy a 3 series with Navigation it will have an iDrive controller and a screen.. if you don't it won't have it. 06 - 08 = DVD Based iDrive 09 - 11 = HDD Based (Faster), High Res Screen, Shortcut buttons around controller

. Thanks friend, what about specs wise, I know the 2011 version uses N55 and the rest N54. Then what is the dofference between 06 to 2010?

I did some research and i think the most significant 'better' could be lesser lag in gear change. What about the exterior? The 2011 car seem narrower and longer, is it true? I can't seem to find side by side conparisons
