Order the Limited Slip Differential from Quaife.
Search for the post. It is currently several weeks away yet, but about 20 or so of us started a group buy and we are hoping for delivery in the next month or so. Oh, and switch out the tires. Go with non fun flats. If you can too get wider wheels 9 or 9.5 inch in the rear and slap on 265/30 tires (I have 265/30/19) and that helps with grip a bit too. But by far the LSD will do the most for grip when accelerating. |

Do you want a reduced torque map?

Or just leave traction control on. Although that does put a damper on the fun in 1st and 2nd gear. But yeah, learning that the throttle pedal isn't an on/off switch is probably the first step The first car I ever owned was a supercharged Miata and, compared to that, even a heavy footed drive in a PROcede'd 335i is a walk in the park. All that chassis flex, skinny tires, quick steering ratio, etc,. made for a very exciting drive.

Yep, learn to modulate the throttle thats all no need for LSD. I had over 400 ft/tq yesterday and have no problem with in sport mode. Oh, and thank you John, for the advice on cold start, putting it in DS mode in 30 degrees this morning and no problem with that hesitation in regular mode.

also for those who have PROcede, uhm, make sure when you fill up at a reputable gas station in a reputable part of town... Texaco by my work (Decatur) is disguising 87 octane for 93... BTW 87 octane does not work well with PROcede, as I found out yesterday.

Get bigger, wider wheels and stickier, wider tires (like Michelin PS2's). See my sig...my traction has greatly improved!!

Get the LSD! having a fast performance car like a PROcede 335i with 1-wheel spinning uselessly out of every corner is about as cool as Britney's new hair style.
You ain't drivin' until you can get the tail out just a bit on corner exits . . .

I am no tire expert by any means so here is my ?. I still have stock rims and tires on 335 sedan with sport. Is a possible plan, looks aside, to put stickier, wide as possible, non runs flats on the rear only. PROcede should be here any day. Really do not feel like spending money on the front's if possible. Thanks for any do's and dont's. By the way all this about torque and smoke is making my mouth water.

And you know this because you have an octane tester in your trunk?

IMO getting fatter rear tires is a bad idea for several reasons.
(1) increased unsprung weight (2) further imbalanced front/rear -> more understeer (3) problems with both high speed and aquaplaning My plan to increase traction is to get high performance non-rfts, an LSD, coilovers, and swaybars.

I have not had any issue with traction after the PROcede installation. I do have 9.5's in the back, and have been driving with the traction control on, though. But I did go up to over 405 ft/tq and 328whp, so I don't know if it is the tires or what. Either way, this is way too much fun with the PROcede!

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. MUCH more likely that it's just a bad batch of gas than they are actually pumping 87 instead of 93. One thing that's nice on my COBB Accessport on my WRX is something that I THINK Shiv will be incorporating into the Procede down the road, with the in-car switch. My Accessport can be plugged in the OBD II port, and I can quickly switch maps from 93 to 91 octane. Perfect for bad batches of gas.
