who's got the cheapest e92?

Hi guys, sorry about the random topic, just wondering what e92's are going for - mainly early ones.

i paid £10,995 for mine, 56 plate in black with 75k 325i and i think it was a good price.

anyone else got a cheap coupe? wondered if they'd sunk below 10k yet.

cheers

Jay.

Hope they don't get too cheap, will be a shame seeing them going the way of the early E46 Coupe's with lexus lights on the back, etc etc

I paid £11,800 back in October for a 56 plate 325i SE e92 with 42k on the clock. At the time I thought the diesel was the better choice but I didn't think my fuel savings justified the premium that used diesel e92s go for. Plus I wondered about the long term reliability and maintenance costs on the diesel as they're a complicated engine.

Cheers yeah its pretty 'basic' aside the wheels, but i'm well chuffed with the std kit you get on an e92 anyway

Surely, there's got to be something wrong with it (Cat C/D, stolen recovered, clocked?). You can barely get a 56 335i SE with very few options for £13k, let alone an 07 M-Sport with all of the good options.

my 07 325 m-sport was £13'750, 79k miles.
if you take off my part-ex it was only £9500! I know that actually doesnt count, but thats how I look at justifying the money I paid and makes me feel chuffed

HPI was clear - pulled back carpets/checked chasis legs etc to see if there was any unrecorded accident/repair work - nope. F&R Numerplates match the dealer who the car was bought from (assuming no-one went to the trouble of forging those)

I dismissed the idea of clocking because of the various different owners (doubt they were all in on it) and the matching BMW Service receipts for each different owner - I'm the 4th owner so that was my reason for haggling down the price - yet to see if there is an inherant problem but I've definately put it through it's paces and haven't had anything pop up on the i-Drive.

S/history shows the Vanos was replaced under Warranty at 36k though, and I am averaging ~16mpg going for short braps around town - drive it prob 30/40 miles per week urban. I suspect a vanos issue is looming round the corner.

Not my ideal way to wade into BMW ownership, but when your budget's ~17k and you can get the same thing for 13k I see that as 4k left over to correct any issues.

I took a punt - let's see if it pays off!!!!!!

Also, the guy had the car on BBS LMs - he was more than happy to lower the price when I wanted it on the original wheels - off we went to his garage......

......Practically BRAND NEW 225M rims (absolutely no mark on them, totally clean with just the balancing weights added) with Eagle F1 assymetrics with tons of tread left. Could still see some rubber "hairs" as I like to call em.

RESULT!!!!

On the downside, 1 blown speaker on driver side doorcard, and some terrible silver tweeters attached to the interior mirror panels where the grill should be. In the process of upgrading via Alpine though so this should be sorted soon.

Funnily enough he never told me abt the Phoenix Gold RCAs that I found hanging around between the boot & rear seats - yet to find where the other side is. And he never mentioned the phat cable (0 Guage?) that is attached to the battery and snakes off behind the rear right boot trim - once again, yet to find where the other side is.

Like I said, there are many many Qs about this car, but I felt for the price I couldn't go wrong....time will tell.
