I am thinking about picking up some black carbon fiber 3M-DI-NOC vinyl to wrap my interior trim. Have any of you guys had any experience with the stuff? Also how much do you need to get to cover everything?

e90...I think I got like 4x5 (cant remember) but you should get more...trust me, i didn't have enough and ended up stretching the center piece corner

I think they have a new one thats glossy....get that one..will look real

you'll need a heat gun, but do not heat it too much or it'll stretch too much
I also have the 3M primer, helps the corners stick better.

If you never did any type of wrapping before, it's not easy

I've had some experience. There's some finessing and a couple tricks to learn as you climb the learning curve, but it's far from impossible. I can help you out if you'd like, or shoot you some tips if you decide to tackle it yourself. 1.5yds should be more than enough.

Having worked with a number of products, I'm really not a fan of the di-noc for the interior. It's great for exterior use though. The fabric I use is a semi-gloss black cf and compliments the rest of the interior very well. No complaints so far

I used the 3m Di-Noc for my interior. Its a little tricky when you start but it gets easier as you get along with your project. Order a little more then you really need, that way if you mess up you will have some extra to re-wrap the part.

I wrapped my trim, also using the fabric type. I think it would be easier with the fabric then the di-noc.

Rob, How is the durability of the fabric and can you take it out if you wanted to return it to stock? I would be putting this into my daily driver which I intend to sell eventually.

I've had mine for over a year and it looks just as good as the day I installed it. It's entirely reversible as well.

Rob that's a great job. I am a self described carbon fiber addict, so the real stuff is what I am after (someday), but that stuff is the closest I've seen yet. I have minor OCD, so I can't decide if it would drive me nuts knowing its not real :/ If I decide to save TONS of money and get it wrapped I'll send you a PM. Clearly you've got the skills and you also found the best carbon fiber imitation material I've seen yet. I agree MUCH better than the 3M stuff which isn't even that bad to begin with.

I actually have sheets of carbon fiber fabric (the real stuff) if anyone happens to know someone local that can do overlays with the real deal PLEASE let me know. I'll be forever grateful.

Rob does a great job he helped with mine where i had a few trouble spots, i got mine from PYspeed hope it's ok to say that. It's the fabric type FYI, i got 2 yards and it was more than enough i still have a ton left over

I thought I'd hate carbon fiber on beige, but the more I see it the more I want to do it. Though gloss black is tempting as well. Maybe I'll just buy a huge roll of gloss black to do my window trims in one big piece and use the leftover for the interior...

Wow, the carbon fiber really pops on the BMW interior. I bought the gloss black fabric but I am wondering if matte is the way to go. Also Rob, what is the uv protectant you applied on top?
