I think I am done

2k ago bmw replaced my 881 pump with a 446 pump despite the 881 pump showing no signs of failure. This was the 3rd pump in my car and for 18k miles no problems. Bmw ripped that pump out and threw in the 446 pump, I started the car today on a cold start and it fired right up but only shot to 700-800 rpm and idled there which is strage for a cold start. Plugged in the ap, sure as shit p2aaf code. So the 4th pump in my car is going. This might be my last straw. I already took legal action against bmw and won a large chunk of cash about a year ago. I am thinking of taking legal action again and getting out of this car and into a gt500 or the new 5.0.

Man that sucks...If your 881 pump was not showing any signs of failing, why did you even allow them to change it out?

I didnt know they were going to do it. I went in last time cause my drivers side window got stuck in the down position again and the car needed front brakes.

I got the car back and they did brakes/plugs/filters/fluids/fuel pump/window.
2k and here I am with a pos failing pump again.

Corvette is not pratical for me. I need a car with somewhat of a back seat that can drive around all year long which includes some heavy winter. The bmw does fine with snow tires, the corvette lol, that just sounds silly.

I sued bmw when I had 34k....and won. As long as the car started breaking prior to 18, what you currently have on it does not matter all that much.

Eitherway This is pump number 5 thats going in
2 window failures
2 headlight failures
2 tail light failures
radio failure
power steering pump failure
wastegate rattle
sunroof failure

Theres probabaly more, the only good thing about my car is the engine and tranny. Not an ouch of oil burned, tranny shifts like butter. Everything else is shit

funny thing, i came to the e90/n54 thing after trading in my 06 mustang GT.

i miss how reliable that thing was. one alternator under warranty. otherwise 60,000 miles of flawless service.

i think youd be happy with a 5.0

as long as it failed the first time before 18k, then you have a chance. Keep in mind, all states have different laws

I am reading about all the tranny issues the 5.0s are having. Out of all the cars I owned in my life, I saw a dealership like 3 times in 10 years untill I got this thing. Every 3 months the car goes back.

Here is the answer for you...

A simple swap lol, not only will you have a faster car, still as classy and quiet being a straight six motor although you will get worse fuel economy. Still 3.0L, still twin turbo, still straight six, couldn't get better, just way more reliable as long as you keep in under 550 whp, no fueling issues, no need for meth, no dealing with DI.

Just my .02, call me crazy!

Sympathize with you regarding the fp, I'm on my 3rd and I have 17K miles on the car.

No disrespect intended but you do realize a nicely equipped GT500 runs around $60K? I'll refrain from commenting about its performance other than to say I could lap it over a normal road course race in a well-prep'd 335i.
