Question: Is synapse bov suppose to suck in air during idle?
I have recently installed a synapse bov with charge pipe on my 335i along with Procede V5. Out of curiosity I have used a thin sheet of paper to test the bov air flow lately and realized that the bov is actually sucking in air during idle.
For all the experts out there, is this normal or did I install my bov wrong? won't it be sucking in unfiltered air in that case? Any input will be appreciated! |

I have basically follow the instruction and split the Y tube into the two inlet on the bov; while connecting the other end to where the original diverter connects to (somewhere beside the inner intake piping).
Does that sound about right? My bov blow off fine under load though. |

I hope your BOV didnt suck anything in. Was your BOV even making any noise/working?? Remove your stock DV piping as well
maybe take a good pic of your engine bay/bov area and we can help you further. Last edited by domrep; 04-25-2011 at 05:16 PM.. |

Just got home and check it out again, what I realize is that the below findings:
Stock Map (Procede V5) - When I first started the car, the bov is blowing air out. - After a 30 secs of idling, the bov started to suck air in. Map 1 (Procede V5) - The bov is always blowing air. And I have reassure that all connections are good. I think it might have something to do with the Procede instead then. |

As long as it works properly now, don't worry about it.

if dont feel comfortable with the situation, just take it off and change to another bov.
