Greasy/Oily residue in intake tube

I went to put on a DCI today and after taking the stock instake box off I felt inside the front intake tube and felt a greasy/oily residue where that smaller secondary tube connects to the primary intake tube (sorry don't know the exact names). Is was only a very light film of oil, is this normal? The whole tube wasn't covered in it just at the area where the secondary smaller tube connects...the rest was dry, though of course I can't reach any deeper than my finger allows...

The intake tube closer to the firewall was completely bone dry. Does this mean I need an oil catch can?

Blow-by is common, although I've never seen any in the intake tube. An OCC is always a good idea but it won't catch everything.

Bump...is the tube that connects to the front intake tube the intercooler tubing? Blow-by in this area would be normal then, no?

The 2 hoses the stock airbox, and all other intakes connect to go directly to the inlet of the turbo. The outlets of the turbo join into a single pipe that goes to the intercooler. Blow by is not uncommon at all. The diverter valves recirculate air from the charge pipe back into the intake pipe when the throttle closes so that is how the blow by got in your intake pipe.
