I have the Aquamist HFS-3 (I had HFS-2 and upgraded to HFS-3) and I recommend it because of the PWM technology (whereas the regular meth kits start the pumps when spraying is needed - resulting in poor atomisation at the beginning and the end and poor response time, this one keeps a constant pressure before a PWM valve and then opens the valve when spraying is needed - much like a car injector).
I got it working perfectly with GIAC Stage 2 Race and I am able to use pump gas with meth instead of the race gas. Unlike the other kits, this one is triggering and spraying proportionally to the car's injector duty cycle, which I find ideal. It can also trigger by boost and vary the spraying power with the IDC, or use a 70/30 mix of IDC/boost, etc. It's very versatile. But I had some problems, I needed to make it trigger earlier than the "min" setting so I had to short circuit a resistor on the board (with instructions from aquamist) and I can now make it trigger from idle if I want, and the car still works perfectly ![]() Also I had a hard time adjusting the failsafe, it triggered unexpectedly at low spraying power (but I don't have it connected to anything - just wanted to make it work just in case). I had it sorted out though. If you don't need a failsafe you can get the cheaper HFS-2 and upgrade to HFS-3 when you see the need. I have upgraded just to have a confirmation that the system is really spraying (and how much it is spraying) and avoid surprises. |
