Downpipe install question
Im in the process of installing my DPs, but i can not get the damn o2 Sensors off, i can loosen 2 of them, but with the little room its really hard to be able to twist it all the way off. these things are a pain
Im getting ready to just go buy a o2 Sensor socket, would 7/8" work?

Yeah those things are indeed a pain. You only really need to remove the front two. The rear two can be removed later... just disconnect them and then take them off once the DPs are off the car.
I'm a pretty weak guy and I managed to get the front two cracked loose with just an adjustable wrench. It took a lot of effort though. A lot of people swear by crow's foot sockets for taking O2 sensors off. |

Yeah i managed to break 2 loose but they didn't want to come off, its pretty hard to twist in the small space.
I just borrowed a crow foot socket going to try it out

o2 sensor socket ftw. That thing saved me so many times before I broke something or stripped an o2 sensor.
Btw o2 sensors are very delicate. Be careful. |

Completely bolt off the passenger side steering rack bolts and it'll Give you about an inch or so of extra space, which is actually a lot, lol.

Getting a V-Band clamp from the dealer for 26$
Not bad. To anyone trying to install their downpipes careful with the V-Band Clamps, they'll snap if your not careful

Yep took a few test drives, The sound is simply amazing, has a great deep tone to it, also being able to hear the turbo spool up even more sounds awesome,
and of course, the power gains are very noticeable, throttle response is way better and "turbo lag" is basically gone. Well worth the money! I recommend this to anyone looking to get more power after a tune

yes, i used these 2.
follow each one step by step and you'll be able to install your aftermarket downpipes successfully http://www.billswebspace.com/335Riss...wnpipesDIY.htm http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104333 also i highly recommend a crows foot o2 sensor socket (22mm), those DIY's do not mention using one but i could not remove the o2 sensors with just a wrench. Very complicated

How close are you guys getting your v-clamp (with you fingers, before you get the bolt through)? It was a struggle for me to just get the bolt through, and I ended up using pliers to squeeze the ends together enough to make the bolt reach the threads. Once it was in, it tightened right up, and is not leaking. I was just waiting for a SNAP though.

Yeah i know what you mean, you have to have the v clamp perfectly aligned, and its really hard to get it perfectly aligned, honestly took me a couple of hours to align it perfectly. The rear turbo i was able to install the v clamp perfectly in just a few minutes, the front turbo was a pain in the ass. I didn't even tighten the last one all the way, i didn't want to over torque it and have it snap..
