Question Wet Sanding headlights?

My headlights are covered in 80k miles' worth of stone chips. None of them are bad, but there are so many it's noticeable.

I know machine polishing plastic isn't a great idea usually, but would it be possible to wet sand and polish them back to any kind of better condition?

TIA

Mine are like new

I ordered a 3M kit from Amazon. It was pricey but I have 3 cars that are older and have around 90,000 plus miles on them. I just recently did my 2006 325i and WOW! Like brand new. The kit comes with easy instructions. I ordered the one that you use with Pneumatic air pump. I figured I could do friends cars for a fair cheap price to offset the costs.

Just google headlight restoration kits. They usually are meant for hazing but if you keep at it, I'm sure it will eventually cut through to make the chips less noticable.

Also try getting some clear vinyl and putting it over the lens.

I have a light tint over my lights and it covered up alot of the chips. Can't even see them anymore surprisingly.

I will be trying to fix up my fog lights since they have a lot of chips on them.

Will take some pics and let you know how it goes and the products used.

I haven't needed to do any restorations on my BMW, but I've used this kit on my wife's Honda and it worked great ! Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner. It has a 3 step process, the last being a sealer that works nice to maintain the lens finish after you've cleaned it up.
