WOW, that new I-drive/Nav is fast!!

A friend of mine took delivery of a E92 335d today and it has the new I-drive with Nav.

I-drive has new graphics (although not very different) and the controller no longer has force-feedback (only 'clicks').

But the best of it: It's really fast! It runs through menus, maps and settings like a charm. I want it too!

Edit: Oh, and also there's no voice control button under the controller anymore. Only on the steering wheel.

And the chimes are not as loud anymore!

Does he have the programmable buttons also? I think the voice command button was optional in Europe wasn't it? I know I've seen a lot of Euro models with only the Menu button.

Sorry, didn't bring my camera since I didn't expect it to be very exiting.

The graphics are not worth taking pics, only some different colours and a freshed-up main menu.
The red colour of the 'climate'-menu makes you go blind though!

It also has the programmable buttons.

The voice-command comes standard with the Professional Nav, which my friend ordered. With the Business Nav (which is not available in NA) you don't get the voice command. Which is what you saw in some pictures presumably.

New baby made a breif stop in Halifax today to wave bye-bye to her Canadian shipmates, then on to New York. Due to dock Friday. I estimate at least a week before my dealer would get it. So, I'm figuring probably the first week in April.

There's a lot of new features to the update that they just came out with. I have a list of all of them, but i will post them later.
BTW, anyone with the old setup will get the new setup with the next reprogram.

Led, It will beinteresting to see if we made the cut on the upgrades to Idrive? Make sure you let me know if you have the programmable buttons, i will do the same..

I guess the new Nav has a different hardware with a much faster processor and more memory.
