long crank under Procede V5 map 3

background: just got new HPFP from recall. put v4 back in upgraded to v5 with current autotune map. Set on map 3 for NA mode.

Today after work, i started the car and it cranked a bit longer than usual...is this common under NA mode/map 3 or am I having stupid HPFP problems. Didnt crank like that before Procede install.

With the current DIC beta maps, expect the engine to crank approx 1/2 second longer than normal. The Procede runs a diagnostic upon start up which contributes to the small delay. It doesn't matter what map you start on. If you are getting a longer crank than that, something unrelated is going on.

I thought you weren't supposed to use map 3 on the DIC maps?

Do you really expect us to read? Surely you are asking too much!

That's not true, on the 3-30 DIC my car cranks for 3-4 seconds at times, however when I backdated to an older firmware, the car starts up instantly.

Am I the only one that caught the OP said he loaded the current autotuning maps so I would assume that means 12-17. OP which firmware specifically did you load? If you are running the DIC beta maps, don't use map 3 at all (according to the read me). If you are indeed running 12-17, don't run map 3 for extended periods, i.e. only use it for valet purposes only. There are some adaptations issues that Shiv still has to work out. The longer crank has been answered already.

+1... Mine randomly takes an extra couple seconds here and there without any reason... Brand new HPFP, injectors and plugs so hardware is not the issue... Other than this, the car seems to be running better than ever with the latest DIC maps.

I will not too worry on the long cranks... the rev will jump up and down if there is the HPFP problem.

Mine is kind of long; almost seems like it wants to stall out. Any ideas?

Which firmware are you running? Are you using the 12-17 with autotuning or are you using the newer 3-30 DIC maps?

I just got off the phone with Vishnu and they said you can run Map3 for stop and go traffic, but it is still not recommended for any sort of cruising due to the adaptation issue.

You may notice some driveability issues when you switch back to map1. I think most people reset the adaptations in the command center and after a couple days or normal driving they went away.

Why not keep your car on the stock map if you drive normally... I like to keep mine on the stock map until I feel like pushing it... And when I'm shutting the car off... Should take care of your long cranks.

I think we should start a thread and name a tune that DOESN'T get any long cranks.
