Dealer Injector and pump recall. Wastegate fix fail
The car is a e90 with 47,000 miles. Bought it in september as a cpo with 39,000 miles on it. Ok so recently the wastegates have been rattling like hell in the morning. Plus I noticed the start times increasing and the idle a little rough. I figured I'd get the car back to stock take care of some issues. We are getting ready for bimmerfest in 2 weeks so I wanted the car in top shape for the drive down to socal. Plus I had to drop the car off with Dr. Shiv today to have the PWM meth kit installed for testing.
Dropped the car off on Thursday at weatherford BMW in Berkeley ca and was done by the end of the day. So they replaced the original pump with the -446 pump 3 injectors -261 were replaced I had pushed them to replace the spark pugs while they were in there and they refused saying it was to early to need the spark plugs replaced. (I ended up walking over to the parts department right after and picked up the plugs and did them on sat) The car runs much smoother and starts are much quicker and robust. The combination of the three (pump, plugs, injectors) made the car feel renewed. My gas mileage was better on the way to work on Monday and overall was happy with the work. I had complained to the SA that my wastegates were very loud and embarrassing and that I wanted them to take a look. Of course like I was expecting they said the noise was "normal" and declined any repairs. Anyone know how to better word it to have them actually fix the wastegates? I figured I would keep complaining two more times and if they didn't fix it I would file a complaint or just take it to another dealer in the bay area? Any recommendations on a dealer that is better to take it to than weatherford BMW in Berkeley? |
