Please help, HID question. Im new, ty.

Hello, I have a 2006 325i with the halogen lighting fixture. When I installed my new HID kit everything seem fine for about 3 mins.... and then the driver side went out. The passenger side was good, never went out. I then turned off the car, waited about 5 mins and then started up again, both lights came on again. Weird....I made sure all the connection was tight and secured. I even swapped ballast from p side to d side. Started it up again....works fine for about 5 mins....then the driver side went out again. I'm so confused right now. Do I need some type of resistors or a wiring harness? Or is it just the HID failing. Thank you very much.

Because you shouldn't be putting HIDs in halogen housings.

I have them on mine too. I'm having the same problem except it's my fogs. I'm switching the bulbs around see if it does anything.

It wont. Fogs are fine. Xenon headlight housings should not be used with HIDs. You will blind everybody on the road and be a safety hazard.

Amen. The car knows what you are doing and is cutting power to the headlight as a result.

Not exactly. 06 and 07 BMWs are known for having lighting shenanigans. There's nothing wrong with using low-powered xenons in fog lights, if you do it for looks because you want to color match the xenon headlights, just get some color matched halogen bulbs, but if you live in an area with a lot of fog then you might be able to justify the higher output from xenon fog light bulbs. Just know the 06-07 E90s have lighting issues and are really really picky with aftermarket non-halogen bulbs.
