Can I run Map2 JB4 with the 335is safely
Just sitting here thinking at 2:15am...
I know map2 requires additional cooling such as a FMIC and possibly downpipes...But since 335is already has additional cooling put into place, what are the chances us 'is' guys can run this map safely, using 93oct of course... Or any of you already running Map2 with no problems? |

i run map 2 all the time and only have vishnu intakes. downpipes and FMIC going on the car once they arrive from jet hot though so still, map 2. i spoke to robert from vishnu on the phone its not about the temps so much with running map 2 stock settings vs map 1 but the stress on your turbos. with dci's you are now making it much easier for turbos to get that extra air to hit those higher boost targets. i run map 2 now and it feels and runs great with 93 octane. powerful. at LEAST intakes, and even more bolt ons obviously =. better.

335is has the same IATs and the same EGTs as the 335i (same intercooler, the same 4 cats). You really need downpipes (to lower backpressure and evacuate hotter gases faster) and intercooler for this. Why risk it ?

Map 1 or 5 for your current setup. I run Map 5 and prefer it to Map 1.

what if i install dci, can i run map2? do i still need downpipes or fmic? tscdennab said 335is has the same intercooler as 335i. sorry im a beginner, but doesnt 335is have an extra cooler over the 335i? I dont want to install a fmic or downpipes because i want to keep mods as simple as possible so if i wanna remove them it wont be a big problem

Don't run Map 2 until you have the correct mods that BMS developed it for.
The FMIC is not that intrusive of an install and makes a big difference. DPs are another story.
