Ok, so I'm very new to this forum and I was trying to get some good opinions on what to do. I actually don't have a BMW yet but I was planning on purchasing a 2007 BMW 335i. I was looking for a fast affordable luxury car with ok gas millage. Any way to cut to the point I'm selling my supercharged mustang and R6 to buy a 335i. (R6 sales money goes to all mods)

I still have a lot to research to do but was hoping for your input to clear up some things. I am still looking for an exhaust system that I like that's why its not on the list yet. Thank you for reading I'm looking forward to your responses! ![]() |

what are your power goals? 400WHP? 500WHP?
Why run nos when you can run meth instead? You should also read up on the tuning options before you jump the gun. -Travis |

My goal is about 450WRHP. I have done very little research on meth vs nos. I know about nos with its pros and cons. If you could explain to me why meth over nos I would greatly appreciate it. Also I have done some research with tunes like Cobb, Dinan, JB, and some others. I think that the JB4 is the best bang for your buck. I am very open to opinions so I wont mind rebuttals...

Tune dual cone intake meth for about $2000 and 125 hp. FMIC and downpipes will add another 30-40 hp but will cost another $1500-2000.

JW but some tuners say they give you 80-100 rwhp and meth kits like 100 I think (just started doing research on meth). Thats like 180-200 hp for under 2k that is ridiculous.

You can get a Procede V5 tune, AR downpipes, ETS FMIC, any meth kit and a intake for about $3000 dollars or less. With that you will be at around 420-440whp.

The HP rating on these N54 motors are unknown. Some people have Dynoed well over 500whp with nitrous or upgraded turbos.

Good to know. It's kinda cool not knowing what the true potential of these motors are but also scary.
I have a friend since high school we have been messing with our cars to see who has the faster nicer car. Good friendly game to push each other to achieve more hp out of our cars. Anyway he has a 07 CTS-V now and im looking to get this 335i and racing him stock for stock. (I think a close race) Then mod vs mod. ![]() ![]() |

chech out Vishnu's new meth, dual cone intake, tune setup (under $2k and you should have ~400WHP). downpipes, exhaust, intercooler should get you the rest you are looking for.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=527169 I think you'll find a lot of people who really respect waht Vishnu produces, including myself.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. But the best bang for the buck is tune, dual cone intake, and meth. That will get you about 400 whp or so if you're lucky. |

I have however been reading up on people running meth and nos and the same time. Do you think that is a good idea? It seems like it would work well with other bolt-ons. Maybe a 50-75 shot I'm looking for that 450RWHP sweet spot. |

Exhaust will only net you around 10-15 hp. Bad option for someone on a budget

I have about 4k-4.5k I can do in mods. I wouldn't mind to get 500RWHP but with not a lot of people knowing the motors potential is I don't wont to risk it. It's going to be my everyday car but if I can safely achieve 500RWHP with that budget....I wont to know how! ![]() |

If u have that much money to apend on mods now..i say u get a tune, the dci, and some rb turbo's. That should be around 4-5....then worry about the little stuff here and there

I have been looking at the RB turbo upgrade in this enormous 100 something long thread. (I have been skimming through it) I would like to upgrade but how much would all of that cost. (instillation, accessories, whatever it takes to get it all done) Plus I have been tying to look and find out what the exact numbers the for HP and TQ gains he achieved off just the turbo upgrade. I did find out however the Helix N54 Turbo Upgrade Kit fully done is $3,200.(I think) It's gains are 120+ HP and 140+ TQ. So which turbo upgrade is better and is 120hp and 140tq worth $3,200? ![]() Also I'm not trying to hate on anyone upgrading. ![]() ![]() |
