Autocarbon.de interior trim?

Anyone have any experience with this? Looks great, and I need something to cover up that ugly ass wood grain interior. Anyone have these or know a good place to get it for a good price?

I would search the vendor section for CF trim. Bimmian is pretty good company but they tend to mark up their products....

That's a great bargain comparing to BMW Performance carbon trim kit. But the BMW Performance carbon trim kit is SOLID. Very well made.
You can find cheaper kit made in Taiwan from ebay.

However, I was told that the thing about carbon is you get what you pay for.

You do. I got BMW CF and it is great. Having said that, it has been replaced once as it got bleached out after about 2 months. Perfect now a year and a half later.

I am asking the same question, but in the Canada regional forums... I got no good responses so far (been up less than a week). It seems like no one has tried this!

I wouldn't consider the Bimmian kit to be a great bargain. It's an overlay kit v.s. BMW's OEM full replacement kit.

Go to www.carbonunderground.net. Great service and price on 3M Dinoc CF vinyl covering of your OEM trim. 100% reversible for trade or lease turn in. Had mine done recently and love the look and feel!

Please describe the bleaching issue.
How did you get it replaced? contacted the original vendor?
Thanks.

My opinion ... for what it's worth to you is that wrapping the existing trim with a high quality 3M vinyl, looks and feels way better than the bmw performance CF kit.

If you're not willing to do the labour yourself, I'm sure you can pay someone $200-$300 to do it for you.

It looks like it was delaminating and went light in places. I don't think it was UV protected. Replacement is perfect.

Interesting. You get what you pay for. $60,000 car....$200 dash. In my opinion you can't even compare the two. To each his own.

As always, I had the dealer install so the replaced it instantly. Sometimes you pay more but in times like this I'm glad had dealer do it.

Can you guys post pics of the BMW perf CF kit? If wrapping it looked just like real CF, I'd probably be willing to do it, but I can't because my trim is the dark glacier aluminum with the textured diamond pattern embossed onto the aluminum. I doubt a wrap would adhere smoothly to it.

I think youre right. Bimmian overlay kit would work. Most CF is high gloss and therefore doesnt look anything like vinyl. They don't really look alike at all.

the problem with carbon is that it's not photogenic.
I've seen both wrapping vs my kit in person. to each of his own. To me, the real quality carbon beats the wrapping 10 times.
If the wrapping looks as nice (or as close) as carbon, then most of the carbon parts would not sell.

I took a couple of pix prior to the installation, but the pictures dont do the justice.
But here they are:

BMW's

BMW's vs European Auto Source's Titanium Steering Wheel Trim.

Like I said, The carbon is not photogenic.
You might think the EAS's look good, but in person, under sunlight or bright light, the BMW kit is much much superior in quality. The weave is nicer too.

I did take a some pictures of my the cockpit, but they turned out like crap because of the flash. Will try again tomorrow morning when I have time. It's 1:30am here hehe.

If cost is the issue, get the ebay stuff. Not bad at all.
IMHO, No wrapping can come close to the real quality carbon!
