Run Vishnu off iPad/iPhone!! **Updated**

Well, kinda...finally figure this out. Like most of you I hate messing around with my laptop in my car. You'll still need your laptop but you can store it somewhere and enter commands from iPad/iPhone. He's what you'll need and steps.

-Laptop, iPad or iPhone (of course USB, procede, etc)
-Insomnia (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/22211/insomniax)
-Air Display (http://avatron.com/apps/air-display)
or
**-(not recommend cause it keeps crashing my f'in computer!!) Desktop Connect Pro (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/deskt...421602383?mt=8) this also works adhoc and gives you full functionality!**

Steps:
1. Hook up laptop to procede, connect etc
2. Create Ad-hoc network between iPad and laptop
3. Run Air Display and drag Procede User Software of to new display or **just run Desktop Connect**
4. Run Insomnia
5. Close lid, secure laptop, hide, etc (be careful of overheating)
6. Enjoy!!

works best on iPad, iPhone display size will only let you see User Software Gauges....but you can use it to easily start and stop data log......play around with it a bit and post feedback!

For full functionality, use "Desktop Connect" app.....works with ad hoc networks. This will give you full access to computer, datalogs, keyboard.

why dont you just use pocketcloud? easiest rdp and vnc to use its idiot proof for the luddites...all you do is install the client to the laptop and dl the app to the ipad.....FULL control by just linking up your email account and done....i work from home on my ipad now because its got full control over it

This needs to work through an adhoc network while you are on the road, not in the garage. No internet. This is for datalogging, map loading, adjusting user adjustable settings, etc. Interface also needs the least amount of lag possible, Air display is near instantaneous because it is just acting as a second monitor through the adhoc, making the procede software gauge and live data logging useful.

This will work for laptops also..Air Display is made for PC also, just go to their website......you will also need to disable the sleep mode or shut off when you close your computers lid. MACs need a separate program for this we can't just shut it off. Everything else is the same.

ahh...ok...could always tether tho

Tethering = adhoc connection, for this solution you are wifi tethering your laptop to you iPhone/iPad. Unless you are talking about a bluetooth tether to the internet to use the cloud viewing. But then you'll have too much lag......signal will travel from the procede to the laptop, out the phone via 3g, back to the VNC program, by the time that happens you would have already done about four 1/4 runs.

im talking about wifi tethering ad-hoc using the data connection....but i keep forgetting im using my thunderbolt whose 4g is faster than most LAN connections ive seen....so my rdp is very snappy....but yea....3g would definitely have some lag
