What are the Best Upgraded Turbo Kits for a N54 on the MArket?
Like the titles says, I am in the market to do a upgrade turbo kits soon. But not sure whats the best on the market? I was told ASR is the Best but they cost the most.
I mean if theres really a big Difference I will go with ASR once I finish saving up. What do you guys think? Btw I want it to be compatible with Procede! |

RB's for sure. Don't forget to buy all the stock gaskets, bolts, oil lines, ect. You can find his info out on the other site n54tech.
Going to cost you >$3600 on just turbos and parts. There are less expensive options out there but RB has proven to show more gains thusfar.

Rob isn't a company, just a good guy with the knowledge and access to the right equipment. Oh by the way, if you are looking at getting a set of RB's, plan on waiting at least 2 months. He just put a new order of CHRAs in but going to take a while to get them up to speed.

I'd like to know this as well, but asking the question on here is sketchy.
A part of me wonders if people are only going to recommend what they purchased?

Sure but we also had to make a decision before buying a set...I had options of epl, TD, asr and RB..my choice went to RB as it was a complete upgrade that maxed out on the wheels and retained stock oil/coolant lines for easy bolton..I also got them while still under warranty...

If I were to buy a set of upgraded turbos now, I believe I would also go with the RB ones. They are similar to those from Turbo Dynamics (stage 2) which I have known to be proven over extensive stress testing. Also, there are quite a few people here who are now having them installed - a wide customer base is always good as you'll find out quickly if something isn't right.

Depends on the individuals goals.
I agree with others, that RB's and TD stage 2 are on the current top tier. RB has lots of orders. There will probably be 50+ people running them by the end of the year. I believe RB's have capacity to handle more than what the stock housing/manifold can flow. So if you want to use the factory turbo system, something like that is the way to go. If you are looking for huge numbers then wait for a single, that may require additional components of the stock system to be changed (at more cost). Personally, with RB's and an upcoming fueling solution, I'm hoping to run the car with 93 octane and meth at just over 500whp. Last edited by scottp999; 05-10-2011 at 11:38 AM.. |
