shifting into 3rd gear at high RPM makes a noise?
Hello people, I have about 1300 miles on my 335i now. I just had first oil change several days ago. Now I'm really enjoying the car, redlining when I get the chance. What I noticed is that when I redline 2nd gear or shift above 5k-ish RPM, shifting into 3rd gear emits a weird noise. There is no resistance or anything, but you can hear a slight sound. I don't know how to describe the sound exactly, but it is there for just about a second, it doesn't sound like the engine is grinding or you're forcing the gear in w/o holding the clutch or anything. Everything else seems to be in working order.
I'm just wondering what it can be since my last manual car never made this noise. Thanks for any and all help! |

No idea regarding the 335i, I have the Automatic version. Mmm... Well, It shouldn't make a noise, are you speed shifting? you said you are redlining, however, you are shifting above 5k-ish... Example: 5200K-ish? I am pretty sure it shouldn't be normal. Have you had this problem again?
