Does Ipod shut down itself
First let me say that I did search and could not find the answer.
With a car that has the BMW Ipod adapter installed. Does the Ipod turn off when you shut down the car, and how long does it take for the Ipod to turn off?

Good question. I have the iPod adapter and I'm note sure. When I go to take the iPod out of the car its always on. But I assume there is some sort of auto shutdown on the iPod. I dont think it would stay on until the battery dies.

Yes it will shut itself off. Mine does, even when plugged into the adapter ii the center console. (as long as it's no longer playing, of course)

I'm not talking about when you have the Ipod connected to the AUX port but plugged into the glove box to the BMW integrated adapter

I'm pretty sure it does and the reason I think so is because after I'm away from the car for more than just a few minutes it takes longer for the ipod to start up and play (or try and open up the CD menus and see how long it is before anything shows up). I equate this to the time delay when you startup the ipod when it has been switched off. On the other hand, it could just be my ipod/car kit sucking.
