What's different then these normal track events?
We're only allowing a small group of enthusiasts to participate. That way, everyone can keep going on for more sessions. The goal is to get every single person at least 7-8 sessions. We are targeting BMW, Porsche, GTR, Benz owners also, so if you have a friend.. pass this on!
You'll be surrounded by high end cars along with some awesome people.
We have already purchased personalized CDs for every single track participator (65$ value). We have partnered with CaliPhotography, SoCal's best motorsports photographers, for this event. We will be GIVING the photos to you at no charge! We have also invited Jeff Westphal out to the track with us for the day. He will be able to jump into the car with you, give you a few pointers or answer any other questions you have.

its $10 off. this event already includes a photo cd from cali photography.. we have hired him to take pictures of you on the track then burn a copy for you at the end of the meet.. a 65$ value... i went above and beyond.. want everyone to have a sick day! just need to fill the event up!

It's a great event and cheap. The whole day is rented out strictly to us, it includes a photographer, tons of track time, it's the real deal. We have track marshals, corner workers, ambulances/fire rescue, real race car drivers instructing you, lap timing, everything!

The personal instructor is a great deal.. We are going to have two professional drivers on site, so you will get more then one session!

Helmet rentals are added also.

I've never done a car track day before. Do you have "Beginner", "Intermediate" and "Advanced" sessions? Or does everyone go out at every session regardless of experience? Also, what are slow and fast lap times in a 335 sedan?

Also, do I need any specific suit, helmet, or specific car prep beyond good brakes and tires?

I'm a first timer too and had pretty much the same questions.
Here are some of the answers: First time - driving with the instructor first is mandatory. Helmet is mandatory - you can rent it for $20 at the track. We better go for the beginner sessions only first time. As a beginners we don't necessarily need to time our laps but rather learn how to drive on the track.

Here's me making the outside pass on Turn 3 at the Big Track:



I race motorcycles with WSMC, so I'm pretty familiar with being on the track in general. But I'm sure that lines are probably a bit different in a car than on a motorcycle.

I was just wondering about lap times in comparison to what we do on bikes.

How is passing in the corners? I would imagine it's probably a bit trickier passing a car in Turn 3 and 5 than it would be on a motorcycle, right?

That unfortunately I can't answer as i've never been to the track before

Hey,
I would start off in the beginner class and move your way up throughout the day. We have beginner, intermediate, advanced run groups.

I'm not sure about the fastest run times, I just go out to make sure I have fun.

If you are on the edge of getting the instructor, let me just tell you I hired another driver now. So we have two people instructing all day, best bang for the buck.. Well, Don't forget..
