an exhaust from a certain brand for a 335i will not sound the same for the 328i. If I were you I would just search up 325/28i exhaust vids on youtube to get a better sound judgement.

The easiest way is to open your trunk, and remove the tail light access panel for the drivers side tail light. Behind the panel below the actual taillight, there is a solenoid there with a vacuum line going into it. Remove the electrical connector on it by pushing in on the metal bar and pull the connector off. Then start your car and enjoy the louder exhaust note. All this does is keep the flap in the drivers side tail pipe open all the time.

Doesn't the golf-tee mod only make it louder at stat-up? My understanding is the exhaust flapper opens once the car is warmed up. If that's the case the mod seems pretty useless to me considering the engine warms up really fast because of the electrical water pump.
I could be wrong as I'm a newbie but this is my understanding |

Good catch, I didn't realize he had a 328 and wanted it to sound like a 335.
EDIT: It turns out he does have a 335 after all See below Quote:

Yes it does trigger a shadow code, but will not cause any alarms to be displayed in the dash. If that worries you then you can get under the car, remove the vacuum line going into the flap, plug it with an object (i.e. golf tee mod) to prevent dirt from getting in the vacuum line, and call it a day. Either way accomplishes the same end state. I have the ability to clear the codes so it did not bother me that is throws a shadow code.
