Whirring noise from car before start up
Got my fuel pump replaced under recall today. Although I never had issues with the old one. Also got DME programming done. I noticed when I wake up the car from sleep by touching the door handle ( I have comfort access ). There is a loud whirring type noise. I suspect this is the fuel pump priming before i get in and start the car? Has anyone else had this noise come up after HPFP replacement or DME programming?

My car does this and it's brand new (2,013 miles)....I noticed this since I'm a first time BMW owner....I just thought it was normal noise (like you said the HPFP priming up before I get into the car)
Do I need to have my car checked already??? Jeeze.... Let me know guys - should I NOT be hearing "any" noise when I clicked the un-lock button on the keyfob? Is this an issue? Thanks, -WoW |

It's normal with the latest programming. The noise is the low pressure fuel pump priming the fuel system so the HPFP is filled with fuel when the car starts.
