Stock vs res delete vs magnaflow muffler... what to do
I am deciding if I am going to stay stock or if I want to try the magnaflow muffler. I don't want it really loud, but if it was around the volume of a stock 335 or something, I'd be pretty content. Can I just do the resinator delete or should I just get the magnaflow muffler?
Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks! Oh, and to add, I do not want to lose any power, especially in low end torque. |

there are some posts around here. both with the stock muffler w/ resonator delete and magnaflow w/ res delete. if you look up in the sticky thread "aftermarket exhaust media thread" the stock w/ res delete should be there :] sounds pretty nice imo

get the magnaflow 14815 and keep the res...It is louder and peppy'er than stock but never ever intrusive and has zero drone on highway. best bang for buck IMO

Magnaflow won't be as loud as the MD but it will sound nicer. The drone will get VERY annoying.. Both will run about the same price. I'd go with the magnaflow quality always wins. |

I definitely do not want drone. I want it to sound stock when cruising, but have some tone while driving. Sounds like the Magnaflow is the way to go. Where's the cheapest place to get it? I thought it was like $100 but I'm seeing a bit more than that.

I've seen the Magnaflow 14815 on Ebay for like $150.

I've seen people on here get the 14815, haven't heard about the 12158 at all. I will probably get the 14815 myself in a month or so.

So simply doing the res delete is a lot louder than just changing out the muffler? There is drone with the res delete (Still stock muffler)?
Thanks. |

Just deleting the res and keeping the stock muffler will do almost nothing in terms of sound. Deleting the res with the magnaflow will be loud..not intrusive loud but race loud. 14815 has tips and just needs to be welded on. The other magnaflow muffler mentioned does not have tips and can be placed further back under the car and then you can weld pipes and tips on to it. I would get the 14815 and keep the res..kind of sounds like the PE or the ikon this way...just loud enough when needed.
