Thumbs down HPF Service sucks!

I ordered an intercooler through Andrew at Lutz. When I received the intercooler it looked like it had been kicked around with at least 30 bent fins front and back plus a few gashes in the metal. I even seen damaged fins inside one of the couplers. Was gonna gonna stay silent but then I thought... F this I paid top dollar for this. The intercooler was shipped straight from HPF. The guy I was dealing with is Chris J Nguyen. He told me they would pay for shipping one way on the intercooler replacement... I told him I would like a discount instead so I'm not losing money and my plans wouldn't be ruined. He offered me $50 off and of course I declined 50 bucks is pathetic their response time and customer service is as well. I have been set back three weeks and counting because of this.
HPF/Horsepowerfreaks have now had my intercooler for 4 business days and I don't have any shipping info. They have promised call backs and haven't followed through. I called yesterday and he CJ/Chris Nguyen wasn't even aware of where my intercooler is. Andrew from Lutz offered to pay for shipping during this and also said he would refund $50. Me and some other guy supposedly had bought the last two according to Andrew. But HPF promises that they have one ready to ship when they received mine 4 business days ago.

whats the point. They have the intercooler now and after they saw agreed to replace it.
BTW They still haven't sent my replacement that was supposed to be sent out the day they received the damaged one which was one week ago. I hate poor service. They charge top dollar for this stuff and then screw people around with no regard. They probably don't have any in stock but don't want to tell me.

Just ordered mine

I think you got the one that I tried to ordered a few days ago. After I ordered mine they said they would ship the next day but I got no tracking number so I called back and they said they had to ship mine to somebodies that got damaged during shipping. I went ahead and got the black one shipped instead.

Sorry to hear about this, Im actually headed down to Lutz tomorrow to get my HPF FMIC installed there, but I bought it used from a member.

I will keep you guys posted with how my experience goes with them.

Got quoted for $112 to install the fmic.

Buying it used from a local for 700 picked up. Its fully polished new version.

So 812 installed. Sounds like a decent deal.

Hopefully you get your HPF fmic soon, Im sure i will love mine.

Lutz offered to pay for my shipping and 50 dollars back. HPF however offered nothing but one-way shipping paid + headache + lots of loss time.

This intercooler was not damaged during shipping, before it was in the box it was damaged. Thats what they tried to say to me. They tried to pull a fast one on me. The box it came in had no damage and the contents were packed tight. The places that had damage were not even touched by the packaging.
I hope they don't take as long shipping yours like they have done with mine.

Received my IC today it looks a lot better than the last one. Still has some bent fins including in the intake. I know it doesn't take much to bend these but if I have to pay the bmw tax at least make the quality official. These are obviously mishandled...

I just got my HPF FMIC used on sunday, it also has a few bent fins, but granted its used.

So I understand being pissed buying a new one with some bent used fins. But once its behind the grill you wont even notice..

Those bugs/rocks on the highway will bend even more fins than what is bent now.

Ill post pics when I install mine. Glad to hear they are at least trying to work with you

^ werd got a new Helix FMIC just yesterday. I think it's the nature of how they're built and how delicate the fins are. I had a few scuffs and bent fins as well. Nothing to worry about

I bought my ETS used. No bent fins. I think it all depends on how the previous owner treated it and what they happened to hit
