Need some advice on trunk mounted gun safes
Ok, the search feature just looked at me funny when I put this in the box...tried it a few ways but...no luck.
So... Any LE types OR gun owners have a gun safe in their bmw trunk? I am getting a 335i coupe in a month or so and need to be able to transport 2 handguns in a safe. I am leasing so...I would like to make it removable BUT not easily so. I would also like it to be as CLEAN as possible, either tucked up and away OR at least matching the trunk as close as possible. Fast opening is a + I am wondering on types of safes and ...installers if known in the S.F. bay ish area...or CA.(I am able to use power tools BUT ... for my own safety and for the safety of others I choose to NOT do install work on my own) ![]() |

Im sure u can make use of the cubby in the there. U can probably devise some sort of turn key lock for the trunk floor mat. Its stiff plastic.
I carry two long guns , but they dont fit in the trunk. i have to carry them in the backseat, and the ammo in the trunk.

Check out http://www.tufloc.com/tufbox.html
www.uscav.com or www.brigadequartermaster.com are other alternatives. "Tufloc® offers the Trunk Mount weapon rack that provides secure storage and quick access."

Just slide it between the seat and center console. Here in fla with a CWP you dont need to have it holstered or locked up.

solution
i had the same needs u did and looked around everywhere for a solution. what i ultimately decided to do was go to a local custom audio center who had a very good reputation. i bought a fire/waterproof safe and had them incorporate it into the custom enclosure inside the trunk. set-up looks clean and hidden.

Lol, I went through BMW security vehicle stuff..Oh some day I will have an armored 5-7 series....wonder if they will allow me at Bay area owners meets ? With the legal issues that my LOVELY state presses upon firearms owners it is NOT safe or smart to have a weapon IN a vehicle that isn't in a safe of some kind.Even LE gets beat up over weapons being stolen and such. |
