iPod/iPhone audio scrubbing?

Using the dick connector cable from BMW, to play and control an iOS device. Any ideas if how, if possible to allow control of FF'ing within a song, and not just skip to next and pmreviius track? Perhaps a flash to add the feature?

LMAO !! I usually hold the next track button and it FF's the song to the part that I want it. I have the updated idrive so it may be different than your 2008.
