e24 M6 engine detail

Got to work on Mike's gorgeous e24 M6 today. The engine bay was in dire need of some loving. As far as Mike knows it hasnt been touched in at least 6+ years and it showed.

Car itself is fantastic, I really hope to be able to spend a day on this paint with my DA buffing it out, lots of shine still hiding in it.

The crime scene. Mike judge's these cars along with James so he knows what they should look like. Until now he said he's been too embarrassed of her under the hood to open the hood at his shows....not now . Sharkfest is next weekend so I hope he enjoys it.

time to begin. Vital electrical components covered in foil to keep water out during rinsing. Always want these rides to start again once I'm done!

love these things

to work, with some good degreaser and a selection of brushes I got this after the 1st rinse :buttrock

then used KAIO to clean and seal the underhood paint. Looks much much better now.

All dressed up with Meguair's Professional plastic/rubber dressing diluted 4:1.

Now thats what i'm talking about, love this car.

once done in the engine bay I rinsed and then quick waxed the front end to clean it all up.

Mike's new tires, hope he likes them next weekend!

regular microfiber circle applicator, tossed it in the trash afterwards, got lots off the paint that the degreaser didnt touch.

yes done by hand, no way your getting a machine on many of those surfaces.
