320d tailpipe ..!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the crap pointing down one.

As advised on here got the BMW tail pipe (4cyl) oval trim and was going the cut the down piece off then fit the trim. Also have the option of a new back box made by and exhaust company for 220 quid and can have any tail pipe section but dont want to spend the money.

WHAT DO YOU CUT IT WITH, i have used various metal blades with my jig saw and it just kills the blade (metal cutting blades).

How has everyone else done it.

Help anyone...?

Just install one of these:

Seriously though ... This thread might help:

I would have thought the easiest option would be to order the back box for the model with particulate filter and swap them as Chris did.

300 for new backbox

vs

30 for a trim

Both look the same........

No brainer for me, should be sorted this afternoon.

One suggestion from someone on the BMWLand forums is simply to paint the pointy-down tailpipe black. I've seen a picture of this and it tidies the look up quite a lot for very little cost.

Sounds familiar

I did this some months ago now using Hammerite smooth paint, still looks reasonable today so long as you clean the soot off each wash.
I couldn't find a chrome trim piece which I was sure would fit the wide bore of the exhaust and without the DPF any chrome piece is going to soot up pretty quickly.
