Tire question - All Season

Hey guys,

I have a '07 E90 w/style 161 wheels in a staggered setup (obviously you already know that). I am looking at 2 different all season tires, since my car came with summer tires and I live in NYC, where the weather is unpredictable.

1st tire: Toyo Proxes 4 225/45/17 in the front and 255/40/17 in the rear.
- These seem to be the perfect solution as I can get them right now from edgeracing.com for $470 shipped. However I am not so sure about this tire any experiences??

2nd tire: Pirelli P-Zero Nero 225/45/17 in the front, however they DO NOT make a factory size for the back wheels. I can either go 275/40/17 OR 245/40/17. THE FACTORY SIZE FOR THE REAR IS 255/40/17. I am not sure about this, do you think it will be alright?

Honestly, in your opinion what would you do? And what are the side effects?

Thanks guys, I truly appreciate it.

-Dmitriy

The Pirellis would be my choice. Better treadwear rating than the Toyos. At one time they were the highest rated A/s tire by Tire rack. Others have now been ranked higher.

Agreed.

However what will happen if I put a 245 size tire on a 255 size rim? or 275 size tire on a 255 size rim? Thanks.
