Best route from Baltimore to Williamsburg, VA?
hey all,
heading down next weekend to Williamsburg for the weekend. Going to drive the M3 so I would prefer to not spend the entire trip on rt. 95 pulling my hair out. Thinking of staying along the coast on the way down. anyone have any good routes or road/food stops to head down that way?? Thanks for the input. Matt

I dont have much input since I live on the other side of the country, but good luck. Was just over there two months ago for a wedding, we spent hours on that road.

rt 95 between DC and Richmond can suck my balls, especially in the M3 which doesnt have cruise control.....I will avoid at all costs.

Rt. 301 is a nice ride. Lots of countryside, small towns and farms. You might get to test the handling a bit, but there aren't any long straight stretches to open it up. 301 doesn't hit 95 until just north of Richmond. I haven't driven it in years, but it used to be a very lightly traveled road.

stay off of 95, stupid state police are doing a blitz for the next few weeks. Take the route we take to get to MIR, and then cross over to VA from there

I guess another option would be going out 50 and heading south across the bay bridge/tunnel, but you'd hit all the beach traffic that way. |

301 is what a lot us are planning to take to get from the Hampton Roads area (Va Beach / Norfolk / Newport News) up to MPACT as well as Bimmerfest East...
