2007 335i BLUE SMOKE PROBLEM AFTER CATLESS DOWNPIPES

hi everyone i have 2007 335i. i loaded evotech software before then today evotech catless downpipes installed. then i go for test and figured out that blue smoke comes. it comes when i move slow(too much smoke) in average 1500-2500rpm or stop(few smoke). when i accelerate, it stops. we tried only catless downpipes installed and no other exhaust parts , it comes no smoke.service workmans dont understand anything and me too. can anyone understand the problem please explain to me. thank you.

If there was some sort of coating on the downpipes, it could just be that burning off. See if it still does it after a couple days. It is weird that there was no smoke with the rest of the exhaust off. It only occurs when you are driving slowly or at a stop?

This began to happen when my stock turbos started to die out. It only got worse and now I ended up with bigger turbos.

It could be the new exhaust pieces burning off but that usually goes away after some short drives.

Might be the turbo seals going?

I don't think you've fixed anything. Most probably your cats are just burning the smoke once it gets in them. This is what they are designed to do: reduce emissions.

Chances are you either have a leaking turbo seals or there is a lot of blow-by gases causing oily air to be mixed with clean air through the PCV system

Yes this happened when I was completely catless. I never returned the car back to stock because I upgraded the turbos which fixed it. But I had a friend of mine that had the same mods and was catless he had the same smoke we had. He returned the car back to stock (catted) with the blown turbos, had no more smoke and then traded the car back to the dealer for an M3.

Also the other two posters are correct. Its the turbo seals that begin to let oil leak out and then the oil is burned which causes the smoke you see when letting off the gas.

The catalysts can remove some of the smoke from the exhaust, so likely the turbos are failing. They are most likely leaking from the CHRA or oil control rings. Your best bet is to make a trip to the dealer and have them pull the turbos.

Just an interesting bit of information for everyone, turbochargers dont have seals.

Dude,

We all told you what could be wrong! We can't possibly know for sure until someone disassembles the car and checks things out. Quit asking stupid questions! Take your car to a dealership or a private shop and have them look at it. You can't expect us to diagnose your problem with 100% certainty over the internet.

Depends on the issue. If the turbos are leaking, a basic rebuild could do the trick. That would solve a problem with the control ring or CHRA.

Is the blue smoke coming out of both exhaust or just one side?

Pinched oil return line?
