Procede V5 NA map..Shiv

Will the NA map ever be a reality or is it just one of those things that's plagued with adaptation nightmares? The sound of running with open wastegates even on a stock exhaust was intoxicating.

Are there any negatives to doing that? Performance wise?

I thought I read somewhere to only adjust if the wastegates were rattling. I've thought about just adjusting the value. However, I would have to drag the computer out everytime I wanted to tame things down again. It was convenient being able to just pull a few times on the stalk.

+1

No downsides other than the fraction of a second needed for the wastegates to go from full open to closed (to build boost) when called upon. Barely noticeable.

Hmm, guess I'll have to play around with that value then. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Now back to those meth kits. I'm waiting patiently to be charged the other half for my kit. :-)

Care to elaborate more on the adaptation nightmares?

So I should never run the NA mode?

There was a post on here a while back about how it was ok to use NA mode as long as it was stop and go, and not steady cruising. ymmv

I've been tinkering with my WG values, since I was getting a little rattle at idle with 90%. I tried 30%, but it was too loud for me. So I tried 50%, and that got rid of the rattle at idle, but then i got a rattle during moderate acceleration (which was way more annoying). I'm guessing that at the onset of making boost, as the wastegates are closing or near close, that's where I would get the rattle. So then I tried 100%, and the rattle at idle is quieter, and no more rattle while accelerating. But I haven't heard of anyone running at 100%. Anyone try it? Are there any downsides?

No downsides to running 100% wastegate position. Just use whatever works for you. Or better yet, tighten the wastegate actuators to get rid of the rattle

I know, but after re-installing my DPs for the fourth time (after a service visit), I've been too lazy to get back under the car, lol.

On a side note, I love how making this adjustment with the user settings is even a possibility. Procede FTW!

Sorry for the thread jack

On the 12/17 map I drove approx 160 miles straight from Santa Maria to Los Angeles on the NA map. I eventually switched to map 1 and developed some hesitation on hard 2nd and 3rd gear runs. These issues eventually worked themselves out. It felt like misfires, but I never got a code.
