lol zltm.you know with the crap fuel we have in mauritius i was wondering if it is safe to fit a JB+,touch wood,i got no issues with the car since i cleared it thru customs in january this year, and im reluctant to send it to the dealer here as i dont want them to fiddle with the i-drive settings,i got bmw assist and bmw online services on that i will have to talk to a london based bmw dealer on my next visit to the UK regarding this facility.

Low octane and tunes are not a good combination.

I wouldnt do it, or if you must, start and run at the lowest dial setting until you can check the ignition advance/knock alarms.

JB's are from the states where Burger Motorsports would have done all their R&D on cars powered with either 91 or 93 octane rated fuels anyway. If its been running ok thus far on 91, then I wouldnt see an issue with it.

It might be worth forking out that little bit extra for the JB4, I think you might be able to check for detination issues (I am not sure about this though).

absolutely spot on!...i wouldn't let any of those backward mechanics touch a car like a 335i...

I bet Leal doesn't even have latest equipment....

keep the standard setting on the JB plus or reduce it by 1 notch...and you'll be fine...its very easy to fit aswell....

yes we do have unleaded but im sure it is of the lowest available grade,as for the leal people i better not comment, when i had my E36 318is which was fitted with an M44is engine,i sent it for servicing there and they couldnt communicate with the ECU as the technician had uploaded the M42 software. Now as u mentioned i wonder what they doing to the M3s and the 335i....

to be honest, (unless i win the lottery) ...i would never bring back a "nice" car to mauritius...as the mechanics there are just good to work on bicycles and i doubt that they have the necessary equipment!....bet they don't even know what oil grade you need for the n54 engine!....and about 90% are scumbag cow boys which would make the rogue traders in the UK look like angels!
