Active Autowerke detectable by BMW testing equipment?
Does anyone know if BMW testing equipments detect the Active Autowerke performance software? I know BMS is undetectable and I have 4 years left on my bumper to bumper warranty and don't want to void it in any way.
Appologize if this has been addressed before, I must have crappy search skills ![]() |

Not likely- I even told them I have the tune. They replaced my valve lifters under warranty just last week. But then, I got it like that with them. Best advice- find a dealer you like, get chummy with the SAs.

Service Advisor. You were close! I'm sure they could detect it, but they would really have to be looking for something specifically ECU related. It is far less likely to be detected than a BMS powerbox, for example. Welcome to the forums and have a safe, enjoyable holiday weekend.

Service advisor yes, tech no. SAs are just schmucks that take your order. The techs are the cooks

BMS unit is undetectable as stated on thier website. I really wana do this on combo with bmw performance exhaust n intake but i havnt put too much reaearch on intakes yet. Afe was my first choice but I just read that afe intakes arent lose power or lag on lower rpms at times

![]() With the Active Autowerke Tune throttle is not tuned aggressively which is nice since it maintains that luxury that you would expect from a BMW and saves you from the GF/Wife killing you incase they drive the vehicle. The power obtained is smooth and very noticeable once full throttle is engaged. This tune really does uses the additional Air from Drop In Filters/ BMW Performance Induction Systems and tuned to utilize higher octane if available in your area. To the OP hopefully you will find this info useful, if you have any questions or would like more info. please feel free to contact me directly. ![]() |

Do you know what the liklihood is of having it overwritten during normal BMW dealer maintenance? I have heard others speculate but haven't heard any comments from a BMW technician. |

It would have to be something directly ECU related, causing the SA to suggest a factory flash, to create this scenario. Any doubts ask them if whatever they're doing will hit your ECU.
