335is- performance spoiler- leave carbon fiber or paint?

As previously posted, have a SG 335is. I'm the Market for the oem carbon fiber performance trunk spoiler. One dealership says it should be painted and another says otherwise. They are telling me it was finished to look as it is as carbon fiber. What do you all think ?
Thx again!

The dealership that says it should be painted is full of idiots. There is no logical reason to make something like a consumer spoiler out of carbon fiber if it's going to be painted. Structural or feather weight construction benefit from carbon fiber but that's limited to race cars and your spoiler is not built like a race car spoiler. It's probably heavier than the plastic version. The only exception is certain body kits use carbon as reinforcement but these are very rare. Consumer grade carbon fiber is almost always visual.

You paid hundreds of dollars for the carbon fiber which is for visual reasons so painting over it would be like painting over something that someone went to the trouble to gold plate. It's silly.

Now some owners may chose to paint over carbon because the manufacturer may not make the part out of regular materials, so they want it color matched because they think it will look better. However if someone is telling you that consumer grade carbon is intended to be painted, that is the opposite of the truth, and the person telling you that is a moron.

Thx for the input. Just placed an order for the spoiler! The e46 M definitely a more raw/fun driving experience. I feel the 335 pulls off the line faster, better dd, but overall feel the e46 is quicker at higher mph. Have about 91k on the clock and had my frustrations with the many trips to the dealer.
