The week long down pipe ordeal is over, finally got my car back

Well after trying to put the raceland down pipes on my car and failing at it, since they did not fit at all. I had to leave my car in the shop for about a week until i could get the AR 3" pipes

well i got the car back today and test drove it. I really cant tell that much of a difference, it does make a little more boost. I hit 16SPI on JB3 map 5 today (pre down pipes i would hit 14.5-15 ish

the car sounds a little better and it helped my wastegate rattle a little bit, but i dont know if it was worth the 1k i spent on them including labor

My check engine light has not come on yet, i have been waiting for it to come on, but i have only driven it about 10 miles so far.

The car has less turbo lag, but i dont know if i would say its faster, maybe i was just expecting a huge difference and the difference is just minimal

anyone have any thoughts?

Wait for your car to adjust but you are making an extra 20hp and spooling a lot faster. If you were expecting 80hp like a tune then you had too high of expectations.

Its worth every cent but labor makes it less valuable which is why I diy

Sorry you had a bad experience with this. why 1k??

When I put my AA DPs on, I only felt a difference in noise (good difference ), but then with time the car started feeling better. But I wouldn't expect a huge difference anyway. I guess they rate DPs with a proper tune @ 20 Whp gains ?
May be you should take it to the dyno (if you have a Baseline)

scan for codes you'll find two codes. SES light takes more driving, but it will definitely come on

Most of the grunt of the power is top end. 3rd and 4th gear. The power is a little over-rated but the modification is justifiably worth it if your looking to extract all the power you can.

I feel that the car is way more responsive with the downpipes on than before...

It's understandable that you went for AR design after failing to install the Racelands, you got scared. But you could have saved about $200-$300 by going with AA or Macht Schnell.

I ordered Raceland downpipes and I am having a hell of a time trying to get them to fit also. I am at the point where I have to take everything back out and re-bend the pipe so it will match up to the mid-pipe correctly. RACELAND sucks dick!! Not worth the wasted time screwing around with it.

You can just cut the cats from your stock downpipes and replace them with pipes as a cheap fix...that's what I did the first time and I was very happy with them Of course, I bought another set of stock downpipes for $200
