I think it depends on what overall scheme you're going for. If it were me, Id get CF, as it looks subtle, yet sporty on a darker car. However, if you're not going for the sporty look, id probably stick with the chrome silver as it looks classy. Remember, when it comes to parts like this, you need some type of contrast. I think it looks funny when everything is the exact same color.

I like chrome in itself but not on the top portion of the pre LCI grill which i think is an eye sore. Thanks for the help. ![]() |

My vote is for the color matched grill - the chrome surrounds are monaco blue and the inner slats are matte black. A lot of the vendors on the forum sell them painted.
It's a slightly different look from all of the matte and even glossy grills on e90s and personally, i think it looks better ![]()

It all depends on personal preference. If it was my car, I would go with matte black. You could get carbon fiber grills, but only if you are planning on getting other carbon fiber products on your vehicle, like mentioned earlier. I personally wouldn't go with color matched grills only because I like a bit of a contrast and painted grills are subject to rock chips and other road hazards. Just my .02.

Those wheels make keeping the chrome window trim seem like a good idea. ![]() |

Interesting..I think on the e90s since the mustache is thicker matte black looks good, but so will color matched. I ended up trying both out and found on the e92 at least color matched worked better for me

I'm in the same boat. I'm going for gloss black, I think. Debating either leaving the outer edge of the kidney chrome, painting it gloss black as well, or getting it painted Monaco Blue.

I stuck with chrome for a while. Then I got dark wheels so I went with matte black, but I didn't like how matte black looked brown in the sun, so I eventually switched the grilles and window trim over to gloss black. It depends on what other mods you have and the look you're going for.

I don't like the way matte parts look under direct sunlight. I also think matte looks a bit cheap/unfinished compared to gloss, even more so if you have the gloss black Shadowline window trim.

That was my first reaction as well. Cause its not really matte, in the same appeal as a car's paint job, but rather simply raw plastic right?
