Replica of BMW performance intake???
I saw this ebay ad for a BMW performance intake from a vendor in China:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AQ:MOTORS:1123 Do you know for what model car is this for? I don't think I've seen the air intake scoops on the front of my car engine bay (06 330xi). Is this for non-us/canada cars? It's a good price since it can work with K&N cone filter. what do you think? |

It says to email them before you bid. In this case I strongly suggest you do so and see what parts actually come with the kit. I am betting it is only the carbon intake piece that goes to a Euro box. I doubt it would include the Euro box for that price.

I disagree! Read the full ad below the pictures of the intake installed in the engine hood, where it shows a picture of both the carbon piece and the euro box. It also states that this kit does not include the cone filter that you need to buy seperate (a pitcure and K&N model# are shown too). I already e-mailed the vendor in China and waiting for a reply.
If this intake include the euro box, will it fit in place of the stock intake? I have an 06 330xi AT sedan. |

If it’s the same kit I bought from ebay it includes the carbon intake and euro airbox cover.

It has to be just the box cover, not the box itself. In Europe, the Performance intake comes with front snorkel, box cover and filter. You re-use the box that came with the car.

After closer look, I think you're right. I didn't know much about the euro box.
It looks like it's the covers only not the box. Is there vendors out there who sells the euro box? Also, back to my question, will the euro box fit in place of the E90 (330xi) stock intake space? |

If you look closely the latter pics show just that cf snorkel piece and the top cover up the intake box. I highly doubt the euro airbox is included but can be purchased from ECS tuning.

Now that we know it's the covers only, I wonder whether it's worth it to pay this much for just covers
I mean all what' important is the performance IMO. I guess it all depends on the euro box price...I'm starting my search for it... |

This is a replica of the OEM BMW EURO performance intake; which consists of the CF air inlet piece and a revised airbox cover, both of which are clearly shown on their auction page. Nowhere on that page does it say it includes the airbox, and why would they include the airbox??? Their intended audience is for people who already have the Euro airbox.

We thought maybe the price is high for just the covers!!
A euro box will cost apprx. $400-450 + $225 for these covers = $600-700?? I prefer then to just go with OEM BMW performance intake or a good after market cold air intake. BTW, I e-mailed the ebay vendor (china) who's selling this kit last week. I never got a reply!! so I won't buy from them if they can't even answer a simple e-mail. |
