I'm not confident that mine is better than that, but it hasn't bothered me too much -- maybe because there are so many other deficiencies with this design!

Mine is really the same as yours. So, I don't think BMW's nav works any better than this.

I believe mine is off by about 50 feet.

I think what it is is a lag time between the sat telling the system where you are and it updating. You really don't notice the lag unless you are coming up to an intersection. Then, it is REALLY noticeable.

Usually, by the time I am in the middle of my turn, it shows 0 Ft.

But, I know what you mean. My Magellan RoadMate 800 anticipates where you are and tells you BEFORE you get to the intersection. Pretty nice.

Same with my Garmin Nuvi 370.

Hmm. Mine seems to be spot on. Well.. 20' +/- accuracy. I'm no GPS engineer but I always understood the resolution for civilian GPS usage to be about 40-50'.

Resolution of a GPS today depends on exactly how many of the 12 satellites in the hemisphere you are in your system has locked onto. With 7 or more you should be able to get within a dozen feet with any NEW system.

Remember the distance is to the CENTER of the intersection.

The GPS in my 330cic is just as accurate as my Garmin Nuvi and the one in my wife's Lexus RX330. The one in the RX330 is superior in function with its touch screen and audio notification system but the maps and accuracy are just about equal.
