6FL clearance in armrest

Dear 6FL owners,
Can, please, someone open their armrest and measure the clearance (i.e. the distance) between the usb port and the armrest cover? I am asking this cause appart from using my ipod for long trips I plan on using a simple usb flash disk drive for everyday driving. I have a HP usb digital drive that has a foldable usb extension. The minimum height of this usb drive is 4 cm (excluding the part of the foldable cable that goes into the usb port. Do you reckon it will be ok to use it in my new E90?
Thanks in advance
Petros

6FL equipped cars are delivered with a 4inch Male-Female USB cable. This will allow you to plug in your memory card and still have plenty of clearance. I will however try and go measure the height.

Thanks Eric,
I don't really want to use any extra cables to save the space in the armrest.

Anyone else measured the clearance? I am about to order a new, quite short, 4GB usb stick and I need an answer a.s.a.p.
Thanks

Quit yelling... I'm here!

Haven't measured, but the clearance is no more than one inch, and probably a bit less. The previous post regarding the extension cable is correct. Even those of us waiting for the iPod cable should have received the USB/USB cable. This allows you to connect a larger device.

I am thinking about 2 of these in 2GB configuration to balance the indexing time or if it's not too slow then the 4GB version:

Sony MicroVault

It looks short enough to just plug in and close the armrest.

The micro-memory-stick seems to be getting more common. Thinkgeek's had some for a while:

This 2G stick is a bit cheaper than the Sony.
