Sorry to hear about your problem. Sounds very expensive.
Yet another reason why automatics suck majorly.

What you are doing is the way to go. Find one off a wreck. There is a parts web site someone gave me, I don't have it handy online, but basically a nation wide search on parts from the junk yard.
Like someone previously said, just confirm on real oem that the same part numbers are used between the two years, and even if they are not it still might work if it was just a part upgrade/fix. |

Yea exactly you don't want to get caught with the labor twice. And on ALLDATA the 2nd step to replacing a AT trans on this car is says the transmission control unit will need to be reprogrammed. Let us know how it turns out OP.

Just curious, how does a voided warranty effect a lease? Any ramifications? Does the OP need to worry about how/where he gets it fixed?
Never leased, but I've always wondered if the leasing companies have some provision for the condition of the car other than cosmetic issues, tires, etc. |

Why dis they void your warranty. Did you take the car in with all the mods installed? Very few AT trannies have failed maybe it was defective from the factory...
AT trannies on this board have taken all sorts of abuse, i would think they are quite strong
