I have 07 335i with the code3 FMIC, and haven't had any issues with it. I don't see any reason not to get it.

Correction, there's a slight trimming need to be done(1/4-1/2 of an inch)
The Helix stepped intercooler fits 100%, a nice upgrade and an incredible price! Contac Alex, i think they have some in stock!

Heres a thread comparing the code 3 to helix with independent datalogs
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=Code+ait

You can also search and find more ait data on various posts that confirms the thread... Helix has intercoolers in stock ready to ship.

Code 3 is nice, HP Autowerkz uses it on their track car.

I have the Code3 Performance intercooler since April 2009 and it performs very well. Even under very spirited driving, the IAT don't rise very high, and the engine revs better towards the top end than before I had it installed.

I'm also using the car on the track quite extensively, and the Code3 performs admirably.

That is not to say that there are no other good intercoolers out there, but for me it does the job very well.

can anyone shed some light on why code3 won't fit some AT 335s (I don't see the correlation between the transmission type and the intercooler)? do you know how we can distinguish between version 1 and version 2? it seems only version 2 works with automatics.

I wouldn't compare Code3 to Helix....2 very different designs.

Code3 vs ER or ETS would be a better comparison. That being said, all 4 of the IC's mentioned are very good options and will kick the snot out of the stock IC.

the version 1 probably interfered with the trans cooler or cooler lines, auto's use a trans cooler thats either part of the radiator, or external mounted in front of it, so sometimes the metal lines or the cooler itself gets in the way

Anyone with Code3 IC and AT could shed light on how to distinguish between versions of this IC?
