WTB DCI and BOV - some questions / any for sale?
Hey,
I am looking to buy a BOV and a DCI. Does anyone know how much I can expect to pay, for each? Is it not a good idea to buy either one used? Do you need to buy a new charge pipe to get the BOV? If I plan to get an intercooler later, do i need to think carefully about which charge pipe i get now? And finally....is anyone SELLING these? If so feel free to paste links or PM me.... Thanks! |

For The bov, yes you do need a charge pipe, unless you get helix BOV/Diverter valves.
I would get a new dual cone intake. 100bux from bms...

To answer your questions
1. Yes you will need a charge pipe 2. Its 100% up to you, There are some used ones in the For Sale section, Usually around $40-60 Just to let you know, some people have had trouble "meshing" the fitment of the DCI correctly when they had a BOV installed because of how high the BOV sits. |

for our set up you do not need to buy a new charge pipe. Install/uninstall is 30 minutes tops. The kit comes with special adapters for the stock charge pipe which make everything really easy to install. Also you may consider the AWE blow off valve/diverter valve. They are also installed into the stock charge pipe in about 30 minutes.

Thanks for the info, but I'm confused. How can you have a BOV "slash" diverter valve? Don't they perform different functions? BOV expelling the extra charged air into the atmosphere and div valves cycling it back into the engine? Thanks, Vlad Ps: what kind of prices are we looking at here? |

I've got the AWE DVs\BOV and BMS DCI. No problems with room or fitment at all. Took like 20 mins to unintall and install the DVs. All depends on how hard the vaccum lines are coming off the stocks DVs.

A bov on a AT is Just stupid since the throttle plate doesn't close between shifts..

If you are going for sound then you are correct. However, when under boost a BOV will hold pressure just as well as a DV, calling a BOV on AT "stupid" is just your opinion.

Gotcha....after doing hours of research on this sh*t you are both right...in regards to AT BOVs and whatnot. In any case, lets not start that convo here....we all know how out of hand that can get lol.
I just want to know about the different BOVs at this point and what separates one from another. I it just how quiet/loud they are? Or is the quality of the BOV reflected in it's price? For example, I see some that are like 200 bucks with the charge pipe, and then others which are like 500+.... Ps: has anyone heard anything about the greddy BOV? |

Stick with TiAL, Synapse, or if you don't mind the annoying chirp sound...HKS. Synchronic BOV's are the way to go.

Since we have sequential Turbos on our cars...doesn't that imply sequential BOVs? |

There are lots of options.
Depends on your goals. If your confused on what you want or whatever feel free to email me. We have stock replacements and we have full charge pipe Diverter valve or BOV replacements. Basically one stop shop. Most people dont realize but there is a purpose to BOV and DV upgrades and its not for sound It is to hold boost for tuned cars. The stock ones like to leak. |
