Front end noise + DTC malfunction

Hello all,

I have a 2008 335i 6MT sport pack car with 75k miles. Lately I've started noticing just a bit of popping noise from the front suspension when going over bumps, railroad tracks, that sort of thing. Also it'll throw a DTC error occasionally while making a right-hand turn - not in a curve but like at an intersection. The trac-control goes off, start assist is deactivated and I can't use the cruise. Sometimes the error will go back off after a bit of driving but usually it stays on until I turn the car off.

Does it sound like these two issues are related? Any ideas on where to start looking? The noise kinda sounds like tie rod ends, but I haven't jacked the car to test for wheel wobble. Would worn tie rods affect the DTC system?

Thanks,
