MP3s, DVD and standard radio with iDrive

I have a 320i with the exclusive package and iDrive installed. I figured that because the front loader can take the navigation DVD that it should be able to take a DVD with MP3s on it.

As it turns out I was partly right. I transfered a couple of CDs I have onto a DVD and inserted this DVD into the radio. However what is strange is that it displays round about the first 10 or so albums and not the rest. So am I missing something here?

Hello

Im guessing you have Business Navigation ?

Anyway DVD MP3 has never been advertised, and it seems one is limited by the amount of songs one can see on the DVD with the car, and the albums are also limited.

I think the Software was written for CD's ( with a bit of a buffer ) thus its maximim limit is below what a DVD can hold. Hopefually they may find people are using DVD MP3's and will increase it in future updates.

E90Fleet: Yeah I have the Business Navigation. And your explanations is pretty much what i suspected.

Let's hope further updates do the trick. I see you are in SA. Have you had a software update?

E90Fleet - Do you plan on getting an E90? If so, which one would you get? What are you driving now?

No. If we play apple apple (like an ipod) 4gb is like 1000 songs and a writable dvd is about 4.7gb each side! So, a full DVD of MP3's is over 1000songs.

I can fit about 200 songs on a normal MP3 cd!!
When did so much music rule our lives....

A 330i with M Sports Pack sounds nice, or a M3 if I can find the funds when it comes out

Driving a old 5 Series currently

I've also noticed that a CD I burnt will not play the 1st track on the CD when I play it from the changer. But it will play the 1st track if I put it into the front loader on the Business Navigation.
