CPO 08 335i E90 Pricing
Hey All,
so I'm looking at a AW on black 2008 RWD E90 335i with ZSP, ZPP, and ZCW with about 30K mi on it. It is a CPO from a dealership near me. They are asking $34,995. Anyone have any thoughts on how much wiggle room there would be? I would like to try and get him below 30K, but this is somewhat arbitrary at this point. What are your thoughts? Has anyone purchased a similar car recently? If so, what was the "sticker" and what did you end up paying? Thanks in advance!!! -sickem

Way high....I was looking at a similar 2008 335xi e90 with the options you mentioned plus iDrive. $34,000 was the sticker and they discounted it down to i think $31,000 right out of the box before any negotiation (I think the one I was looking at did have 5k more miles than yours but + iDrive, metallic paint and X-drive).
So I think you are right, you should be able to push that close to $30,000 depending on your patience. I just totaled my 335xi fully loaded and the appraisal of that (with 40k miles and change) was also in the $30,000+/- range. |

How much is "a lot," if I may ask? I am going to the dealer today to discuss.

$22,500 Base Price for a 2008 E90 335i - $650 without auto transmission + $750 Sport Package + $650 mileage adjustment for 30k miles (base mileage is 35k) = $ 23,250 Trade-In / Wholesale Value + $ 1,450 for minor dealer reconditioning (new tires, brake pads, etc.), this is applicable on a CPO vehicle. = $24,700 "Market Ready" wholesale value. This is an accurate starting point for your CPO car negotiations. Galves is the used car pricing guide that dealers in the Northeast use to determine their maximum offers on customer trade-ins (www.galves.com). + $2,000 (estimate) for the 2 year/50,000 mile CPO warranty + a fair mark-up for dealer overhead, and profit. What constitutes a "fair mark-up" is up to you, but I think it should be no more than 10% for a BMW dealer’s overhead & profit on a CPO car. In other words, your instinct is right not to pay over $30,000 for the car (BEFORE any shell game the dealer will try to play on a trade-in). Good luck.

My current E90 is space gray with saddle brown dakota-a color combo which I love. Car just doesn't have enough umph. Right now I'm looking at a AW on black car and a sapphire Blk/Blk interior. Both are ZPP, ZSP, Auto with ZCW (CPO) around 30000mi. One is "stickered" at 33K the other at 35K. appreciate the input, guys!

ok so I went and saw the black car. it is very nice, in great condition. They are going to have to replace one (rear) tire as it had a bulge in it (they just got the car in the other day so it wasn't even really fully prepped yet). I got them up to 25,700 on my 09 328xi E90 which I am pretty happy with. The car is listed for 32,995...they came down to 31,300. Just as a refesher it is a CPO'd 335i out to 2014 with 29,xxx miles; ZCW, ZSP, ZPP, bluetooth, RWD, Auto, ipod. What do you guys think? Sales mgr and salesman were nice guys, but they showed me paperwork that they were into the car for 29,800? I find that hard to believe. Anyone ever had any luck getting them to throw in snow tires or something???? Any thoughts/advice are appreciated!

I just purchased a 2008 CPO 335i with sport and premium package. It had 14,700 miles and I got it for $31,982. Had it for 2 weeks now and loving it. I traded a 2010 Camaro SS LS3 for it. I am in the military and stationed at Ft Campbell, Ky and the military does not pay sales tax in TN. Thought it was a good deal and went for it. I wish the car had Nav. Right now BMW Financial Services gave me the lowest interest rate and they are paying my first two payments.

I recently purchased a 2009 E92 335i with 35k miles. It is CPO through 9/15 with Msport, premium, nav, cold weather, ipod, auto, paddle shifters, BMW assist in LeMans Blue. I paid $33,500. Financed thru BMW for first 7 months at 3.9% and they pay $500 off my first three payments so effective price as $32k. Dealer also replaced rear brake rotors and pads and three tires.
Lots of lease returns to choose from. Be picky... |
